A Spiritual Exercise ...

These past weeks we've spent time talking about repentance and letting go, of dropping grudges and opening our hearts. Perhaps we've made some progress in doing so. Let's find out.

Please join me this evening in taking a few minutes to sit down in a quiet place, think of someone who we know who is annoying us or making us angry, and then pray.

Pray for that person. Not that he or she will see things our way, or come around, or stop being a twit or jerk or roadblock to whatever it is we want to get done or have our way. Just pray for that person. Pray for his or health, well-being, and spiritual happiness. Pray without reservation; without ifs, ands, or buts. Pray with joy.
