Solstice
Today is the Winter Solstice, which is the shortest day, and thus, longest night, of the year.
Traditionally, we remember the homeless who have died over the past year
on this day. As we prepared for the arrival of the Christ child, and
his parents who found that there was no room at the inn, let us give
some thought to those in our community without a warm place to sleep, a
roof over their heads, a place to call our own. Let us think, let us
pray, let us do something. After all, God cared enough the came to be
with us, to save us. Maybe we can bestir ourselves to care for those
among us who could use a little help.
